THE STORY OF RICE LUA TOM
Climate change has made saltwater intrusion increasingly severe and seriously affected rice farmers in the coastal areas of the Mekong Delta. To adapt, farmers switched to the model of one rice crop - one shrimp crop/year instead of the previous two rice crops. In the dry season, when saltwater intrusion occurs, people use saltwater to raise shrimp. In the rainy season, farmers store rainwater to wash salt and cultivate rice in combination with giant giant shrimp farming, so the rice quality is delicious and absolutely safe. The Rice Shrimp model is considered a smart farming model, sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural development.
Sympathizing with the difficulties of farmers in areas affected by climate change, we desire to share difficulties... in a practical way to help farmers' lives prosper, without nothing more than enhancing the value of the rice they produce.
